These classes are intended for advanced-beginner dancers who are familiar with the rudiments of the swingout.

Class Description: Learning the rules / Manipulating the rules
Mike and Emily will address the basic principles that make for great social dancing through a series of cool new moves. Then the class will work on ways both the follower and the leader can use these principles to vary their dance. The idea is to briefly examine some basic concepts so that we're all on the same page, and then help everyone see how they can explore on their own (while teaching a healthy number of new moves and variations along the way).
Bio for Mike & Emily
With no titles to their name, Mike and Emily are first and foremost social dancers. Well respected in whichever community they happen to be involved with, they are always teaching, working, and learning from those around them. Primarily, however, Mike and Emily are known for their artistic originality on the dance floor, which they attribute to their degrees in theater and violin performance, and which they share willingly with all that show interest. They have been warmly welcomed for workshops and classes across the U.S. and care deeply about building the lindy hop community.
