Hi! I have an account with PayPal. On their website, they were able to automatically create a html script for a 'Donate' button. In turn, I copied and pasted that script onto the Socializr's html editor. In turn, not only the button is not appearing; but also the pasted script disappear.
What am I doing wrong? Please help soon as I am making effort to help out a family in dire strait. Thanks! Steven |

Hi Steven,
Unfortunately we don't yet have complete integration with Paypal. However, I played around with Paypal and found a way for you to add a link for people to send you money: 1) Log in to Socializr and go to the event your are hosting 2) click on 'edit event info' 3) Add the word 'Donate' (or whatever you want the text to be) where ever you'd like in the event description area 4) highlight the text and click on the 'insert/edit link' button that looks like a little chain link. 5) then enter the following link for that text: www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_send-money&nav=1&email=YOUR_EMAIL_ADDRESS 6) Very important: change the text 'YOUR_EMAIL_ADDRESS' in the link to your paypal email address where you will be receiving payments. 7) click save at the bottom of the page to save the event info. This should add a link on the page for people to donate. If you actually want to add a button, you can do this as well, but it's a little more complicated: 1) go to the 'edit event page' again 2) click on the 'html' button that is the right-most button in the header of the event description area (this displays the html of your whole event description) 3) find the place in the description where you want to add the button and copy/paste the following text (if it is too hard to figure out where to put the button, just add it too the end of the html): <a href='http://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_send-money&nav=1&email=YOUR_EMAIL_ADDRESS'><img src='http://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_donate_LG.gif'></a> 4) once again, change the text 'YOUR_EMAIL_ADDRESS' to your paypal email address. 5) save the event info and presto your 'Donate' button shows up on the event page. I'm sorry if these instructions are a bit cumbersome, but I'm trying my best to find a solution for you that will work today. In the future, Socializr will have much more seamless integration with Paypal and other payment services. Feel free to post here if you're having any trouble or if you have any more questions. Warm Regards, Boris |
