Your site keeps asking for a location, even through it's a privite party @ my residence, since your site wouldn't let me continue past this point I'm forced to go back to evite. |

Hi Mary,
You certainly should be able to create a private event at your private residence. Were you unable to save the event info? You must provide a valid US city/state combination, but we do not require an exact street address. If the street address you enter is not recognized as a public location, we let you know and give you an opportunity to enter it into our public locations database, but you certainly don't have to do that. We allow you to leave a private address private. Did you get an error of some sort? cheers, Boris |

I am getting the same error - just a big 'ol loop. If I leave the location blank and try to create the invitation, I get the error, 'Please enter a location.' If I try to put 'My Home' or such, the system prompts me to 'create a public venue'. Thanks for looking into this....
Curiouser and curiouser...I added a (zero)0 to the location line and sailed right through to the next page. |

Hi Jon,
You must enter something in the location area, but it can be anything, like 'My House.' If it is not a recognized public venue, then you are given a message that says 'Location not found. Add a new public venue' but you can just click away anywhere and the message disappears. It is not an error message, it is simply prompting you to add the address as a public venue if you wish to do so, but you do not have to click on it. You are able to create an event with anything in the location area, but you must provide a valid U.S. city/state combination. I hope that helps, feel free to write with any more questions, Boris |

I see...it might be a good idea for the page to actually SAY that somewhere! Thanks for your quick reply. |

The problem with this 'location' requirement, even with the minimal city/state information that must be provided, is that not all conceivable events take place in a given city or state. I'm currently hosting an online celebration, in which people leave birthday messages for a friend who will be shown the site on her birthday. I dislike being forced to put a city/state name, because that confuses guests who then think it's a party for whose attendance they have to say yes or no to. |
